Journeys will officially be retired on October 1, 2026, to make way for an exciting new leadership exploration path: the Leadership Awards. These awards offer more flexible, interest-based ways for Girl Scouts to build their leadership skills—whether they’re leading themselves, their team, or their community.

4Her Troop Helper

Girls who have family support and participation in their Girl Scout adventures are more likely to stay, and troops excel when parents are part of the fun. Ask your troop families to volunteer four hours this year, 4Her!
Ability Awareness and Inclusion
(and Blind Awareness rocker)

Earn this patch by becoming aware of the need for inclusion and finding ways to include people with disabilities in your troop and community. Then earn the Blind Awareness rocker patch by understanding people who are blind or experience visual impairment.
Art of Ballet

Discover dance as you watch a live performance or video of a professional ballet, take a class to develop new skills, create a costume, or choreograph a dance to perform.
Building Bridges

The Building Bridges patch program, generously supported by the Linden Root Dickinson Foundation, offers you and our senior citizens the opportunity to connect and learn from one another.
Climate Controller Patch Series

SOLV Energy is proud to partner with Girl Scouts San Diego to introduce a five-part patch program to promote STEM education for girls and young women. The program will promote sustainability through simple, educational activities focusing on food rescue, ocean protection, solar energy, trees, and water conservation. Learn more by completing the first three patches in the series: Food Rescue (Spanish), Trees (Spanish), and Solar (Spanish).

Today’s malls: a relic of the past, or a central and vital part of today’s society? Central shopping areas provide not only convenient shopping, but also a wonderful opportunity for learning. Explore a little and consider what a mall really has to offer.

Give yourself a hand! Earn a patch for every 25 hours of service—unpaid babysitting, picking up trash, or other small jobs—and a rocker when you reach 100 hours.

Multicultural Community Celebration Series

The Girl Scout Multicultural Community Celebration Fun Patch series celebrates the countless contributions that diverse communities have made and continue to make in the United States. Girl Scouts of all levels have plenty of activities to choose from to earn each segment of this fun patch, whether they choose to do one or all. Check out the requirements to complete all the patches: LGBTQ+ Pride Month. Black History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month (Spanish), Native American/Indigenous Heritage Month, and Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month (Spanish).
Old Town

Discover the history of thirteen locations, and the lives of early San Diegans, to better understand how California as we know it came to be. Great for visitors as well as local Girl Scouts. Designed in 2006 by Cadette Girl Scout Serena McClintick Ettelson, now an AIA licensed architect.
Quake-Safe

Plan a presentation on preparing for earthquakes. Teach others what an earthquake is, what items to have ready, how to create a family plan, and what to do during and after a quake.
Triathlon

Watch a triathlon in person or on television and learn about swimming, biking and running. Identify the safety activity checkpoints for all three sports, then participate in a race on your own.
World of Whales

The California gray whale lives in the Pacific Ocean and migrates every year from Alaska to Baja California, between late December and early March. Learn about these whales and what has been done to save them from extinction.
