Dear Girl Scouts San Diego Community –
Happy International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month!
Yesterday, we hosted an International Women’s Day Celebration on our campus to honor our strong connections with partners in the region who share in our mission of elevating girl and women leaders. Because of these incredible partnerships with organizations like MANA de San Diego, Academy of Our Lady of Peace, and more, our Girl Scouts become empowered to develop new skills, embrace adventure, and tap into their inner strengths, passions, and dreams.
We also announced the launch of our three-to-five-year strategic plan, which outlines our strategic vision and goals for the next three to five years. Our strategic vision is our North Star, and this plan is a roadmap to guide our organization as we continue to empower girls, build future leaders, and make a lasting impact in our community. Learn more at sdgirlscouts.org/future.
Girl Scouts San Diego is looking forward to our 24th annual Cool Women Celebration on Thursday, March 21 at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines. We will honor five Cool Women honorees alongside 50 Emerging Leader Girl Scouts (grades 10-12). This beloved event is almost sold out, so purchase your tickets today at sdgirlscouts.org/coolwomen.
Lastly, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported this year’s Girl Scout Cookie Program—from our volunteers and parents/caregivers to staff and community partners. This season has been amazing, and I have loved seeing so many of our Girl Scouts out in the community meeting their cookie goals and being a sister to every Girl Scout.
There is still time to support your local Girl Scouts before the program ends this Sunday, March 10. Visit sdgirlscouts.org/cookies to learn more and find a booth near you. Please save the date and join us for Operation Thin MintSM (OTM) Sendoff and Family Festival aboard the USS Midway flight deck on Saturday, May 4. This fun, family event will bring together the community to celebrate the success of the Operation Thin MintSM program.
As always, thank you for supporting our important mission. I am so excited for the future of Girl Scouts in San Diego and Imperial counties.
Yours in Girl Scouting,
Carol
