This International Women’s Day, Girl Scouts San Diego is eager to share its strategic plan, which outlines our strategic vision and goals for the next three to five years. This plan is a roadmap to guide our organization as we continue to empower girls, build future leaders, and make a lasting impact in our community.
Our strategic vision is: To be viewed and valued as the go-to partner for developing and elevating girl and women leaders in San Diego and Imperial counties. Beyond traditional leadership development, our relevant programs and experiences foster a sense of well-being in girls, so they are well-rounded individuals poised for success in life.

On March 7, Girl Scouts San Diego hosted an event to announce the launch of its strategic plan and celebrate this special holiday alongside community partners who share in the mission of elevating girl and women leaders in the region. Because of these incredible partnerships with organizations like MANA de San Diego, Academy of Our Lady of Peace, and more, Girl Scouts are empowered to develop new skills, embrace adventure, and tap into their inner strengths, passions, and dreams.
Special thank you to our event speakers, Senate President pro Tempore Emeritus Toni G. Atkins of California’s District 39; Inez González Perezchica, Executive Director of MANA de San Diego; Cadette Girl Scout, Jumana S. of troop 4988; Carol Dedrich, CEO of Girl Scouts San Diego.
Huge thank you to City of San Diego Mayor Gloria for meeting with Girl Scout Cookie Program entrepreneurs to celebrate the 2024 cookie program. Girl Scouts shared their 2024 program goals, presented their cookie pitches, shared their individual marketing strategies, and talked about what they plan to do with the funds. Mayor Gloria asked these future leaders what issues they are concerned about in their community and talked about how they can make a positive change. Thank you, Mayor Todd Gloria, for engaging with Girl Scouts and encouraging them to make the world a better place!

More than 200 Girl Scouts and their families came together on Sunday, Feb. 25 to celebrate World Thinking Day with KPBS at the San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum in Escondido. Observed by 10 million Girl Guides and Girl Scouts worldwide, World Thinking Day is a day of international friendship and a time to stand up for causes that could improve the lives of girls around the globe. This year's theme is "Our World, Our Thriving Future: The Environment and Global Poverty."
Girl Scouts participated in hands-on museum activities, sampled food from different cultures, and watched a dance performance. Girl Scouts can earn the World Thinking Day Award year-round by completing these activities. Thank you to KPBS and San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum for hosting this complimentary event since 2014.
