Dear Girl Scouts San Diego Community -
It has been a fantastic summer filled with fun activities, inspiring events, and unforgettable adventures for our Girl Scouts and dedicated adults!
This summer, more than 1,850 campers experienced the magic of Girl Scout Summer Camp, from day camps at Balboa Campus and Escondido Program Center to sleepaway camps in Julian at Whispering Oaks and Winacka. A heartfelt thank you to our incredible staff and volunteers—your leadership, dedication, energy, and passion brought these experiences to life.
Last month, we were thrilled to welcome more than 500 adults to our Balboa Campus for the 2024 Volunteer Conference. The energy was heartening! A special shoutout to everyone who shared their expertise by leading sessions and to our more than 50 community partners and sponsors who hosted exhibitor booths. Check out photos from the day on our Flickr page.
Next week on Friday, Sept. 13, we will put the ‘fun’ in fundraiser with Girl Scouts San Diego’s beloved Urban Campout: Fortune Favors the Bold. Don’t miss out—registration closes in a few short days on Sunday, Sept. 8. Secure your tickets, tables, and sponsorships now, and join us for this Friday the 13th soirée full of enchantment and adventure!
We are eager to begin another exciting year of Girl Scouting when our 2025 membership year starts on Tuesday, Oct. 1. It will be a busy month of celebration and excitement as we open applications and nominations for our Emerging Leader Girl Scout and Cool Women classes of 2025 on Tuesday, Oct. 1. Learn more and support these impactful programs by visiting sdgirlscouts.org/coolwomen.
And, join us for the annual Volunteer Celebration on Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Mingei International Museum, where we’ll honor more than 40 incredible volunteers with awards for their exceptional dedication to Girl Scouting.
There is so much to be proud of and even more to look forward to, thanks in great part to each of you. Thank you for supporting our mission!
Yours in Girl Scouting,
Carol
