How to earn the Girl Scout Gold Award
- Girl Scout completes the Gold Award Online Training request form
- Review Your Guide to Going Gold and take Gold Award online training
- Let our council you’ve complete the prerequisites and are ready to be assigned a Gold Award Committee Mentor
- Find an issue in your community or the world that you care about.
- Create an account in GoGold Online and complete steps 1-5
- Meet with your council assigned Gold Committee Mentor
- Get a letter of support from a community organization with which you will work with.
- Identify your project advisor, an expert in your chosen community issue.
- Work with your Gold Committee Mentor and submit your project proposal in GoGold Online for Committee approval.
- Lead your team and carry out your plan.
- Complete Steps 6-7 in GoGold Online
- Work with your Gold Committee Mentor and submit your Final Report in GoGold for Committee approval
- Deadline: Gold Award final reports must be submitted no later than Sept. 1 of a Girl Scout's high school graduation year. Note: Girl Scouts who wish to attend the current year's Gold Award Ceremony must submit their final reports by April 1 of that year. Those who miss the April 1 deadline can attend the following year's ceremony.
