Ways to Volunteer

Whether you have a few hours, a few weeks, or a few months to give, volunteering with Girl Scouts is flexible, fun, and meaningful! Be the troop leader that supports her every week, an advocate for girls in your community, a mentor in your area of expertise, or provide behind-the-scenes support that makes Girl Scouting possible.

Are you a parent interested in joining Girl Scouts? Sign up to volunteer with her troop by logging into your MyGS account and register as an adult member.

Help With a Troop

Troop Leader or Troop Assistant Leader
Work with a group of girls and mentor them as they make new friends and develop connections that will last a lifetime.

Troop Treasurer                             
Maintain accurate financial records and oversee compliance of Council financial procedures for the troop.

4Her Troop Helper                             
Help your girl's troop to run oh-so-smoothly from week to week by giving at least four hours per year. Assist with driving, activity planning, snacks, or other necessary tasks.

Troop Cookie Manager                                        
Coordinate the annual cookie program at the troop level. Set up cookie booths, manage inventory and money, and then watch the girls light up when they earn the rewards for being the best cookie entrepreneurs ever!

Troop Fall Manager                                        
Help girls learn valuable leadership skills while your troop earns start-up funds for their Girl Scout year. Coordinate the annual fall product program at the troop level.

Council Trainer

Day Camp Volunteers                          
Help girls explore nature, find their bliss outdoors, and make new friends. Volunteer opportunities at day camp (with your girl or all on your own) are a great way to make a big difference in a short amount of time.

Expert Volunteers                          
Are you a scientist? Chef? Technology professional? Camping expert? Share your skills with Girl Scouts in your community looking for a resident expert. Email our training team for more information on opportunities like this.

Join the Gold Award Committee
Help Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts earn their Gold Award, the highest and most prestigious achievement in Girl Scouting, as you mentor Gold Award candidates through the award process.
