Job summary
Girl Scouts builds girls of courage, confidence and character. Gold Award Committee members are dedicated to helping Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts earn their Gold Award, the highest and most prestigious achievement in Girl Scouting. They demonstrate a successful ability to mentor Gold Award candidates through the award process — from idea to proposal; project implementation through final report. Their fellow committee members are experienced teammates just as invested in supporting girls and promoting the Gold Award brand across our community.

Description
Gold Award Committee members help Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts earn the Girl Scout Gold Award with a project that meets GSUSA guidelines. To do so, they meet monthly to review the size, scope, and cost of each proposed project and make recommendations for project development, with the goal being to approve projects that are Girl Scout Gold Award caliber. They also mentor their Gold Award candidates, providing, as needed, one-on-one coaching sessions via phone, email or in-person, and support through the entire Gold Award process, including representing their projects at committee meetings. As a Gold Award expert, committee members seize opportunities to educate the community about the Gold Award at events, meetings, and in workshop settings.

- Become a Gold Award process and project expert
- Be a registered adult (minimum age 18) member in good standing, with current volunteer paperwork and background clearance on file.
- Affirm that the Girl Scout movement actively seeks members of every racial, ethnic, religious and socioeconomic group.
- Comply with Girl Scouts of the USA and Girl Scouts San Diego council standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
