Dear Girl Scouts San Diego Community,
Spring is all about growth and renewal, and the past few months at Girl Scouts San Diego have been buzzing with events and activities that help girls blossom into the leaders our world needs.
Our spring membership campaigns are in full swing, and it’s invigorating to see so many new and returning girls, families, and volunteers ready to embark on another year of learning and leadership through Girl Scouting. Thank you for being a part of this mission! Learn more, register, or renew at sdgirlscouts.org/join.
Girl Scout Summer Camp is right around the corner, and girls in K-12 are anticipating the joys and adventures that are only possible in the great outdoors among friends at camp. Spaces are filling up quickly at dozens of sessions across our four camp properties. Register now for day or sleepaway camp at sdgirlscouts.org/camp.
Every girl, regardless of their family’s ability to pay, should be able to participate in this transformational outdoor experience where they connect with the healing powers of nature and friendship and unplug from sources of anxiety and stress. Donate today to support our Campership financial aid fund at sdgirlscouts.org/campership.
In March, we celebrated five outstanding Cool Women honorees and 50 Emerging Leader Girl Scouts at the 2025 Cool Women Celebration. Read a recap of this inspiring event on our blog.
April was National Volunteer Month, and we loved getting to appreciate our volunteers across our social channels and with special gifts. While the month has ended, there is still time to recognize a volunteer you admire by nominating them for a GSSD or GSUSA award. Submit a nomination by Monday, June 2 to spotlight a fantastic volunteer!
In the coming weeks, we look forward to honoring our Girl Scouts who have achieved their highest awards at our Silver and Gold Award ceremonies. Driven by a commitment to service and making the world a better place, these Girl Scouts took the lead and made their mark in the areas of environmental sustainability, mental health awareness, disability access, civic engagement, STEM, and more. Stay tuned to learn more about these incredible leaders.
Finally, during this Mental Health Awareness month, I encourage each of you to be kind to yourself and others. To support the well-being of our community, Girl Scouts San Diego offers free Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) classes that help adults learn to recognize and respond to mental health challenges in children and teens. I know firsthand the critical importance of this learning and encourage you to sign up. You might just save a life. Learn more and sign up to join an upcoming class at sdgirlscouts.org/ymhfa.
Thank you for being a part of our Girl Scout family and for making our community stronger by being part of this movement.
Yours in Girl Scouting,
Carol
