Early outdoor experiences boost self-esteem in adolescent girls, and this summer, more than 1,900 campers experienced the joy and transformation of Girl Scout Summer Camp. From day camps at Balboa Campus and the Escondido Program Center to sleepaway adventures at Whispering Oaks and Winacka in Julian, girls explored the outdoors, built leadership skills, and grew their courage and confidence.
One hundred girls also joined camp through the Level Up program, experiencing Girl Scouts for the first time alongside current members. From Detective Dream Team to Under the Sea and Artsy Adventures, these Level Up campers built friendships and received an annual Girl Scout membership to continue the journey year-round. This program was made possible thanks to grant support from San Diego Foundation and San Diego Unified.
Nearly 400 guests, staff, and volunteers came together on Friday, Sept. 12 in support of Girl Scouts San Diego—and the impact was extraordinary. Together, we raised more than $450,000, a remarkable achievement that reflects the generosity and commitment of our community. Thank you for making a lasting difference in the lives of girls across San Diego and Imperial counties.
