Girl Scouts San Diego’s beloved fundraiser, Urban Campout, returns Friday, Sept. 12! This year’s theme, “Defying Gravity,” pays homage to the award-winning film and musical, Wicked , and mirrors the spirit of Girl Scouts, where girls discover their power to rise above expectations and lift each other up in sisterhood. Guests will enjoy an unforgettable evening under the stars featuring delicious local cuisine, signature cocktails, fabulous auction items, and nostalgic camp activities like archery and s'mores.
Tables are available now and individual tickets will go on sale
Wednesday, July 23. Help us raise essential funds so that every girl
has the opportunity to fly. Reserve a table, become a sponsor, donate to our
silent auction, or
volunteer to help make the magic happen.

On Sunday, June 8, we proudly celebrated 62 incredible young changemakers from San Diego and Imperial counties who have earned the prestigious Girl Scout Gold Award—the highest honor in Girl Scouting. These teens tackled important issues with passion and purpose, from environmental action and education to mental health, life skills, and inclusion. See photos from the celebration on Flickr and meet the full class in the 2025 Gold Award Ceremony program.
We’re also thrilled to announce that Grace Orabona has been selected as the 2025 GSUSA Gold Award Scholarship recipient. Grace’s project, Don’t Become a Victim, addressed the growing threat of human trafficking through a powerful awareness campaign and curriculum for middle and high school students. In collaboration with U.S. Attorneys and school leaders, Grace educated peers on online safety, recognizing signs of grooming, and knowing where to turn for help—reaching hundreds of students and leaving a lasting impact. Learn more about Grace’s project, the GSUSA scholarship, and this year’s scholarship honorable mentions on our blog.
Congratulations to all of our Gold Award Girl Scouts!

Nearly 1,700 Girl Scouts and their families cheered on the Padres last Sunday as they took on the Phillies at Petco Park! Girl Scout Sahara R. (troop 6105)—our top Elite Entrepreneur who recently set the GSSD record for the highest lifetime achievement record of more than 50,000 cookie packages sold—threw out the first pitch, Abigail C. (troops 5274 and 5099) delivered the game ball, and Charlie S. (troop 6526) said “play ball!”
Get a special Girl Scout baseball T-shirt from our retail stores to show your spirit during the rest of the season. Find hours and locations at sdgirlscouts.org/store.
