Girl Scouts San Diego Announces New Partnership with ABC Bakers

Girl Scouts San Diego Announces New Partnership with ABC Bakers

In preparation for next year, I am excited to share that our organization is entering a new partnership with ABC Bakers (ABC), an officially licensed Girl Scout Cookie baker since 1937.

This means, Girl Scouts and their cookie customers can look forward to a new lineup with easy-to-recognize fan favorites, featuring nine cookies—Trefoils®, Thin Mints®, Peanut Butter Patties®, Caramel deLites®, Peanut Butter Sandwich, Caramel Chocolate Chip (gluten-free certified), Toast-Yay!®, Lemonades®, and Adventurefuls®. Eight cookie varieties will be available for $6 per package. To help offset the higher production and specialty ingredients costs, the gluten-free certified Caramel Chocolate Chip will be sold for $7 per package.

By forging a new partnership with ABC Bakers, we will continue delivering on our mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place, while also prioritizing our strategic goals for the next three-to-five years. ABC has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting the national Girl Scout Movement. After thorough research and negotiations, we are confident in the baker’s ability to serve our local members and business needs, as ABC has invested in its infrastructure and strategically selected the Girl Scout councils it supports across the country.

I invite you all to read the full press release with more information on this new partnership for GSSD and learn more about ABC Bakers’ cookie lineup, which includes more options made with vegan ingredients, a gluten-free certified cookie, and new varieties for our region to enjoy.

For our volunteers that would like an opportunity to sample ABC Bakers’ cookies and get a ‘first look’ at product program assets for the 2025 season, I encourage you to register for the 2024 Volunteer Conference, happening on Saturday, Aug. 24 at our Balboa Campus. To register, visit sdgirlscouts.org/volunteerconference. Registration closes on Sunday, Aug. 11.

Our product program team will also be hosting a virtual town hall session on Thursday, Aug. 8, 6-7 p.m. where members (Girl Scouts and adults) will have an opportunity to share and contribute their ideas for a successful transition and ask questions on this topic. Please register here to attend.

Like in years past, Service Unit Cookie Coordinators (SUCCs) will distribute a sample package to troops before the program starts. The exact variety is TBD. We plan to share more details, host trainings, and provide marketing and booth resources for our volunteers, Girl Scouts, and families in the fall as we approach the 2025 Girl Scout Cookie Program launch.

To get excited for next year’s cookie season theme of ‘Embrace Possibility,’ we invite Girl Scouts to review and share their thoughts on potential cookie rewards to help shape the upcoming season. Here is a link to the 2025 cookie rewards survey from ABC Bakers

When you support the Girl Scout Cookie Program by making a cookie purchase or volunteering your time, you are empowering girls in TK-12 to explore their interests and address issues in the community they care about. 100 percent of proceeds raised from in-person and online cookie orders stay in San Diego and Imperial counties, also enabling GSSD to deliver programming and maintain our five properties.

Thank you all for supporting our girls and the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world!

Yours in Girl Scouting,

Carol M Dedrich
