Girl Scouts is a nonpartisan movement, dedicated to serving all girls, families, and communities. Our commitment to empowering girls and women transcends any political climate.
At Girl Scouts San Diego, we’ll continue to champion programs that empower girls, foster civic engagement, and encourage community service. Teaching girls how to think critically and engage constructively is a central part of what we do. We will continue to equip girls with the tools and perspectives they need to navigate complex issues, contribute meaningfully to society, and become resilient, ethical leaders.
Regardless of the political landscape, our focus remains on building a strong, empowered generation of girls who can lead, advocate, and impact positive change in their communities. Together, we’ll continue to work toward our strategic plan/vision, support our mission, inspire hope, and champion a future where every girl has a sense of well-being and the opportunity to thrive.

We’re thrilled to announce the arrival of the 2024-25 Share patch, designed by Sienna K. of the Mountain View Service Unit! This beautiful patch embodies the spirit of sharing, generosity, and caring. Get the patch by donating $15 to Girl Scouts San Diego or by purchasing one from our retail stores. Find a location near you at sdgirlscouts.org/store.
The Girl Scouts San Diego Fall Product Program wrapped up on a high note last month, thanks to the incredible efforts of more than 3,700 Girl Scouts! With a boost in digital marketing savvy, these go-getters sent out more emails than last year, proving that they are mastering the art of online engagement.
And the fun will continue in 2025! Mark your calendars for the Girl Scout Cookie Program, which kicks off in San Diego and Imperial counties on Sunday, Jan. 26. We can't wait to see our Girl Scout entrepreneurs in action again.
On Saturday, Oct. 19, more than 800 delegates from across the country—including our CEO, Carol M Dedrich, and nine representatives from our council—gathered virtually for the Special 57th National Council Session, to discuss, debate, and define our collective path forward as a Girl Scout Movement. Read more about the results of the Special Session on GSUSA’s website.
For more than 100 years, Girl
Scouts San Diego has prepared girls to lead, to serve their
communities, and to make the world a better place. From Daisies in
Kindergarten to Ambassadors in high school and beyond, we empower
girls to learn about the world around them, discover their passions,
and use their voices for positive change. This election season has
been an exciting time for our older Girl Scouts and alums, many of
whom voted for the first time.
“I have been
involved in Girl Scouts for 13 years and will continue to be
involved. I am so happy that finally my voice will be heard in this
year‘s election.” - Maryliz C.

more on our blog about our first-time voters and how they made their
voices heard this year. Way to go, Girl Scouts!
Girl Scouts San Diego is grateful to be one of 23 local organizations to receive funding from the Prebys Foundation for youth mental and emotional well-being programs in San Diego County. Adults can benefit from this partnership by registering for our free Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) training.
Learn how to recognize the signs and symptoms that suggest a potential mental health challenge, how to listen non-judgmentally, give reassurance to youth who may be struggling, and refer a person to appropriate professional services.
Thank you to the Prebys Foundation for being our great partner. Recently, our CEO, Carol M Dedrich, was featured as a guest on the Stop & Talk podcast, where she chatted with Prebys CEO Grant Oliphant about GSSD, youth well-being, and more. Listen to the episode here.
The Empowering Me: Older Girl Scout Conference on Saturday, Nov. 2 offered an exciting, personalized experience for more than 70 Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors. This special day was packed with mini workshops tailored to foster a sense of well-being by encouraging personal growth and self-improvement practices. From skincare tips and dance routines to self-defense, STEM activities, mindfulness, meditation, and self-awareness sessions, girls had the chance to explore and choose what resonated with them most.
Attendees enjoyed lunch, met new friends, and received some fun extras to commemorate the day. Want to stay updated on future events like this? Sign up for our older Girl Scout newsletter at sdgirlscouts.org/oldergirlscouts.
