Join us as we make the world and our local community a better place by planting, protecting, and honoring trees with the Girl Scout Tree Promise on our mountain properties in Julian. Girls Scouts and Caregivers will learn about the scientific and cultural importance of Native plant and tree species, participate in hands-on activities like seed harvesting and soil preparation, and help create a greener future through service and environmental stewardship.

🌲Event Details:

- Location: Camp Winacka and Camp Whispering Oaks

How Girl Scouts will make a difference:
Healthy Forests: Native tree propagation and planting allows the forest to become healthy again. With health being restored, the land becomes more fire resilient and creates a safer environment for Girl Scouts and volunteers when visiting our mountain properties.
Animal Conservation: With the work that has already been performed by our mountain properties staff, we are observing larger herds of deer and an abundance of turkeys and other small mammals.
Indigenous Knowledge: Native tree planting on Kumeyaay land is deeply rooted in 'e'Muht Mohay, a traditional philosophy meaning "love of the land" that views humans as active, caring stewards rather than separate observers.
* This is not a drop-off event. Girl Scouts must be accompanied by a caregiver.
