We Are Girl Scouts.
Girl Scouts San Diego builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. We strive to be the premier leadership organization for girls and experts on their growth and development.
Backed by trusted adult volunteers, mentors, and millions of alums, Girl Scouts lead the way as they find their voices and make changes that affect the issues most important to them.
Girl Scouting first arrived to San Diego County in 1917, just five years after Juliette Gordon Low founded the organization in Savannah, Georgia. Then, in 1965, the individual councils serving San Diego County and Imperial County merged.
Thanks to generous supporters and community partners, Girl Scouts San Diego provides innovative programs and a wide range of activities for more than 23,000 girl and adult members throughout San Diego and Imperial counties. The council maintains program and service facilities in Balboa Park, Escondido, Imperial Valley, a mobile experience, and two mountain camps in Julian, CA.
