Dear Girl Scouts San Diego Champions,
As Thanksgiving approaches, my heart is full of gratitude for our incredible Girl Scout community across San Diego and Imperial counties. Every day, I am inspired by the unique contributions you—our volunteers, board members, parents, caregivers, staff, funders, and supporters—bring to our shared mission.
Thanks to your dedication, Girl Scouts San Diego engages nearly 9,000 adult members and serves more than 15,000 girls across our region. Together, we provide these young leaders with the meaningful connections, mentorship, transformative experiences, and values they need to create a better world.
Reflecting on the first year of our 2024-2028 strategic plan, I am proud of the progress we have made in building new and existing connections across our region, engaging in volunteer landscape research, and identifying additional areas for growth and development—all to foster a sense of well-being and belonging for girls. As we embark on year two, I remain grateful for your generosity and unwavering commitment that will help to make more successes possible.
Each of you plays a vital role in advancing our strategic plan as we navigate today’s challenges and seize opportunities to courageously create meaningful change that supports the evolving needs of our Girl Scouts and volunteers.
When you gather with loved ones this Thanksgiving, please know that thousands of Girl Scouts are deeply grateful for your generosity. With your continued support, the Girl Scouts we guide today are stepping forward, learning to overcome and build skills to share their unique voices and talents with a world that needs them more than ever.
Thank you for being the heart of our community and for nurturing and believing in our Girl Scouts. I wish you and your families a Thanksgiving filled with joy and gratitude.
Yours in Girl Scouting,
Carol M Dedrich
