Register for Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) training, taking place virtually on 1/17/2026, from 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. YMHFA is an early intervention public education program that teaches adults how to recognize the signs and symptoms that suggest a potential mental health challenge in youth, how to listen nonjudgmentally, give reassurance, and refer the youth to appropriate professional support and services.This class also teaches adults how to act in the event of a mental health emergency in youth.  

PRE-REQUISITES REQUIRED:You must complete 2 hours of self-paced online pre-work before the class. 

A minimum of 5 participants are required to host this training.If we are unable to confirm the minimum 5 participants 1-2 weeks prior to the scheduled class date, the training is subject to cancellation. 

Participants will not be taught to diagnose or treat mental health challenges, but will learn: 

  • How to recognize common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges in youth  

  • How to connect a young person with professional mental health help and resources 

  • How to act in a mental health emergency. 

Please note: this is a 6.5-hour live training. A lunch break, as well as short breaks, are included. To receive the certificate of completion, participants must complete approximately two hours of self-paced online pre-work before the live training, attend the live training, and complete a short quiz and survey after the training.
