Girl Scouts San Diego and Feeding San Diego invite all Girl Scouts to
earn the Climate Controller patch by volunteering to help rescue food
and fight hunger. Girl Scouts will stay busy with a variety of
activities during the shift, which may range from gleaning and sorting
donated produce or food items to packing food for specific
hunger-relief programs. The Climate Controller patch promotes STEM and
sustainability by teaching girls the link between food waste and
climate change, inspiring them to become "Climate
Controllers" through food rescue.
