PRE-REQUISITES REQUIRED: You must complete 2 hours of self-paced online pre-work before the class.
Minimum 5 participants are required to host this training.
Register for the Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) training, taking place on July 12, 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. YMHFA is an early intervention public education program. It teaches adults how to recognize the signs and symptoms that suggest a potential mental health challenge, how to listen nonjudgmentally, give reassurance to a youth who may be experiencing a mental health challenge, and refer a person to appropriate professional support and services.
Upon completion, participants will have the ability to recognize certain behaviors and signs that could identify a mental health crisis within youth. Participants will not be able to diagnose or treat these disorders but act as a liaison to connect the young person to resources.
Please note: this is a 6-hour training. A lunch break, as well as short breaks, are included. To receive the certificate of completion, participants must complete approximately two hours of self-paced online pre-work before the live training, attend the live training, and complete a short quiz and survey after the training.
