Pueblo Indian Pottery Class

Lions, Tigers, and Bears
Go on a safari without ever leaving San Diego! Lions Tigers & Bears (LTB) is a non-profit rescue facility that provides a lifelong safe haven for 17 species including Bengal tigers, African lions, bobcats, an African serval, a mountain lion and a leopard, as well as a variety of ranch and farm animals.
Did you know that the trade in exotic animals is second only to the trade in illegal drugs and weapons? Did you know that there are more tigers living in captivity today than in the wild? To make that terrible fact worse, consider this - most of them live in unspeakably horrific conditions. Lions, Tigers & Bears provides safety and comfort in a place where great cats are loved and where Girl Scouts can develop awareness of issues faced by these beautiful animals.
Visit LTB to learn about all of their rescued animals, conservation, interacting with wild versus domestic animals, and responsible farming of the land or animals in human care. LTB offer interactive visits, games and activities for all ages.

American Liver Foundation presents Love Your Liver Youth Educational Program
Love Your Liver is a free interactive liver wellness program targeted toward elementary, middle and high school students. The program educates students about the liver and the actions they can take to maximize their liver health and prevent liver disease.
There are over 100 different types of liver disease. Liver disease does not discriminate and currently affects over 30 million people (one in 10). Furthermore, more than 6 million children in the United States have a condition called non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) that, if left untreated, can lead to liver failure. Only with education, a healthy diet and exercise, can NAFLD be reversed. Despite the potentially devastating effects of liver-related diseases, most people know little or nothing about them. Education is key and the American Liver Foundation is here to help! It is never too late to start taking care of your liver.

Brighten the lives of children with cancer by creating handmade pillowcases!
ConKerr Cancer San Diego's mission is to provide colorful pillowcases for children in San Diego hospitals, the Ronald McDonald House, pediatric hospice, and the American Cancer Society summer camps for children with cancer, and their siblings. Girl Scouts who sew or are willing to learn can make colorful, fun themed pillowcases to donate to pediatric cancer patients.

International Bipolar Foundation- new Mental Health Awareness Patch!
The human body is amazing, and the most mysterious part of the body is the brain. In the brain lies the basis of our personality, the logic by which we make decisions, the ability to learn and to speak - virtually everything we do. It is not surprising when things go wrong. One result is "mental illness", which is an illness, that affects the brain. The new Mental Health Awareness Patch will help girls explore what it really means to have mental illness. It will help girls understand the impact stigma has on people and help them learn to educate others. If we all take the time to learn, together we can make a real difference in the lives of the millions of people who suffer from mental illness and stigma.

"Our Changing Bodies" Puberty Discussion & Workshop
Empower your Girl Scouts to know their bodies and the changes they can expect during puberty. Studies are showing that girls are starting puberty at younger ages than in past years, therefore optimally the subject should be discussed while girls are still in elementary school. This five-hour confidence building workshop will include frank discussion and other activities in a peer setting with moms and other female adults. This workshop is run by Girl Scout Leader, Linda Goldsmith, a Birth Doula and Girl Scout Leader for over 9 years. All participating troop members will receive a "It's A Girl Thing!" patch!
