Step 1: Contact your school to request to table at
Back-to-School night or fall PTA/PTO event. Once it’s a go, contact
your community’s Recruitment Specialist for a recruitment kit
including brochures, interest cards, flyers, and giveaways.
Step 2: Have your troop create a display for the event. Show
your Girl Scout pride—it’s a chance for girls to share what they love
about Girl Scouts with their peers!
Step 3: On the day of the event, have your girls team up at the
table to engage with families who have girls in grades TK-12 and ask
if they want to learn more about local Girl Scout opportunities. If
they say yes, have them complete an interest card and invite them to
visit the online Troop Catalog to look for a troop.
Step 4: Submit completed interest cards you have collected
(scan and email, send by mail, or bring them to Girl Scouts’ Balboa
Campus) with the Recruitment Challenge Debrief Card. Girl Scout San
Diego will contact the families. When your troop collects five or more
completed interest cards, we will send you a free patch for each girl
in the troop who participated in the activity!
