San Diego Zoo Safari Park is a 1,800
acre wildlife sanctuary, a vast reserve where wild animals live in
herds within natural habitats. For over 45 years, guests have come to
the Park seeking adventure and close encounters with the wild.
The Safari Park is a pioneer in animal care, research and
conservation. Here, guests come to understand what scientists and
conservationists are actually doing in various global habitats. We are
a place for people to be inspired to get actively involved, whether in
their own backyards or on their next global adventure.
Roar & Snore Safari: Girl Scouts – Conservation Camp
On this overnight camping event, Girl Scouts sleep in tents right
in the heart of the Safari Park, surrounded by giraffes, rhinos, and
elephants. Scouts will learn how easy it is to become a hero for
wildlife in their daily life. To reinforce conservation learning, the
scouts will take walking tours, participate in games and crafts, and
enjoy up-close animal encounters. By the end of their experience, each
Girl Scout will have checked off elements of different scouting level
badges. Dinner, breakfast, and campfire s’mores are included.
