Dear Girl Scouts San Diego Community,

As a lifelong Girl Scout and troop leader for many years, I know firsthand that summer camp can have a tremendous impact on a girl's life. It's where we learn to be brave, to be independent, and to make lifelong friends. It’s a chance to connect with the beauty and adventure of the outdoors... and it’s just plain FUN! 

That's why I'm writing to you today to ask for your help in making sure that every girl has the opportunity to experience Girl Scout summer camp, regardless of her family’s ability to pay.

The need is greater than ever before, as many families are struggling due to numerous challenges of the past year. In fact, we’ve seen twice as many families request financial assistance compared to last summer. With your support, we can make a difference. 

Your donation will provide Camperships for girls who otherwise wouldn't be able to attend camp. And, because we believe so strongly in the power of Girl Scouts, my husband Carlo and I, will personally match your donation, dollar for dollar, up to $10,000.

That means your gift will have double the impact and help even more girls have the summer of a lifetime.

I can't emphasize enough how important this is. Based on proven research, outdoor experiences are key to mental and physical well-being for girls. For many, camp is the only opportunity girls have to disconnect from the stresses of daily life (not to mention their phones and social media) and connect with their peers. It's where they discover new passions and develop skills to become the leaders our world needs. And it’s where they make memories that will last a lifetime.
