Frequently Asked Questions

Time of day

What time will we be live?

Mornings for 2.5-3 hours, between the hours of 9 a.m- noon. In the afternoon, campers will have the opportunity to participate in recorded content and "on your own" activities. We encourage campers to share out their experiences with their families in the afternoons!

Will there be different times of virtual camp for different program age levels?

No, all levels will be “live” in the mornings around 9 a.m.-noon. If technology setups for multiple campers at the same time is problematic for your household, we recommend signing the campers up for separate weeks of camp.

Unit groups and staffing

Will there be different times of virtual camp for different program age levels?

No, all levels will be “live” in the mornings around 9 a.m.-noon. If technology setups for multiple campers at the same time is problematic for your household, we recommend signing the campers up for separate weeks of camp.

How many girls will be in each unit?

Sessions are divided up by Girl Scout program levels and will have approximately 40 campers per session. We are aiming to break the program levels up into cabins/units of approximately ten to 15 campers to ensure connectivity and engagement with other campers throughout the day.

How many staff will be with my camper?

At minimum, two camp staff that are over 18 years old, background checked, and trained will be with your camper during interactive sessions. All virtual camp staff members are selected for their maturity and enthusiasm and are excited to share this summer with your camper!

Supplies and activities

What is included in the supply kit?

All materials for any crafts or activities, a T-shirt, and an activity packet. Other specifics will be added as we get closer to the start of camp. (An email will be sent ahead of time with more information). Badges are not included.

Update July 9: Delivery for the camp patches has been delayed. The patches will not be included in the supply kits. Upon arrival, we will reach out to camper families to find the best way to get your patch to you.

What are the camp activities?

Songs, games, crafts, campfire, badge work, time with the camp mascots, cabin time with their unit, and more!

What if my girl signs up for multiple weeks, will it be the same content?

We plan on varying the content as much as possible to keep camp engaging and fresh for all!

Technology

How do I access Virtual Camp?

Virtual camp will have a unique landing page for each session. The Friday before your session starts, you will receive an invitation to the landing page. Everything your camper will need for the week will live on this page.

What platform will we be using?

Cisco WebEx is the virtual platform for all live session/cabin time video calls. Learn more about how to join a WebEx meeting.

Families

What if I have multiple children in the same house? Do I have to register all of them?

Each camper needs their own registration so they have all the supplies necessary to participate in virtual camp.

Can the family participate in all the activities?

No, not all activities. We want your camper(s) to fully engage and participate in camp on an individual level and connect with other campers. BUT...we will have activities that all members of the family can participate in! Be on the lookout for those in the schedules sent out approximately a week before your session starts.

Financial assistance is available for all virtual sessions. Apply for assistance at the time of registration.
