| | | Dig this: Camp Winacka archeology exhibit
(open all year)
|
Trips to our beautiful Camp Winacka facility near Julian is a long-standing favorite Girl Scout tradition. The property's rich history includes its beginnings as the home of Native Americans. Learn all about this era at Camp Winacka: Digging into History, a special collection open through December at the San Diego Archaeology Center near Escondido (See North County Times article.) View Native American artifacts and learn about ancient lifestyles at this unique exhibit featuring items unearthed during 1971-1978 Camp Winacka excavations led by San Diego State archeological teams and Girl Scouts. For more information, contact: Annemarie Cox at (760) 291-0370.
