Volunteer for Girl Scouts

Girl Scouts is powered by caring adults who donate their time to make a positive influence girl's lives. It's easy to volunteer. Give an hour, a week or a year; every moment makes a difference. We offer many different opportunities or pathways, to volunteer. No matter which you choose, we will train and support you , while we work with you to find a volunteer position that meets your needs and interests.

Choose one, two or more of these volunteer opportunities

Troop
Are you interested in working with girls on an ongoing basis? Lead or co-lead a small group of girls. Help them plan activities, do service projects and go on field trips. A troop volunteer must be able to commit a school year or more.

Series
Do you have a special interest you want to share? Lead a small group of girls through a shared passion, skill set or existing curriculum. You might work with girls as they learn to surf, discover career options or become backpacking gurus! A series volunteer must be able to commit to 6 weeks.

Travel
Do you have a taste for travel? Volunteer and help plan and execute girl-led traveling for local and international trips lasting a weekend or a few weeks.

Camp
Do you love the great outdoors? Volunteers help plan and lead day camps or overnight camps in Balboa Park, North County or in our mountain properties.

Events
We organize dozens of events each year–from major fundraisers to girl-focused celebrations. You can volunteer for a day, join a committee or just give a few hours of your time. Take a look at our council calendar to get an idea of the opportunities.

Virtual
Girl Scouts is moving into cyberspace, giving girls even more opportunities to learn and grow. Is this your passion? Volunteer to help girls make the most of the online world !

Training
Do you love to share knowledge? Help us teach adults how to train girls. Practice your public speaking skills and meet by introducing new girls and adults to Girl Scouting.

Office help
Are you interested in boosting your resume or learning some office skills? WE are always looking for skilled professionals to help us contact donors, design marketing materials, photograph events, coordinate mailings... and so much more!
