Electronic background screening
Background screenings are an integral part of our due diligence process and risk management policy. At Girl Scouts San Diego, the screening of volunteers (and employees) includes criminal background screens — which are performed by an independent, third-party background-screening agency — and possible reference checks, performed by our staff. If you have any questions regarding our policy, please see section VP5 in our Volunteer Policies, Procedures and Standards.
The electronic background screen is valid for four years. The average fee to Girl Scouts San Diego is $9.25. Fees are dependent upon your address, history and former names over the past seven years. Your total cost will be itemized for you prior to check-out through PayPal.
There are two options for paying the fees associated with the screening: self-pay or financial assistance.
By choosing to self-pay for your background screening, you allow us to put our council funds toward directly impacting girls in our community. If you cannot self-pay, financial assistance is available to cover the cost of your screening.
Please complete this process via a laptop or desktop computer.
The screening is primarily compatible with Internet Explorer. If you are using a Mac computer or Safari as your browser, please exit and open Internet Explorer to complete the process.
