Property Department - 2011 Major Project List
The Property Department is very pleased that when the 2011 budget was approved, it included much needed repairs for Cabin 1 and 2 at Balboa, Escondido Program Center, Winacka and Whispering Oaks. Below is a list of the projects for the year with the expected schedule. Please understand that unforseen conditions may alter the schedule.
If you/your troop, group, service unit and/or family are interested in donating items for any of the projects and/or would like to pitch in when we are ready to schedule a volunteer work day, please contact Marlene Williams, Council Liaison, mwilliams@sdgirlscouts.org
Project: Cabin 1 — Complete!
- Replace cast iron drain pipe
- Replace bathroom toilet stall walls/doors
- Install new tile on bathroom floor
- Install new bathroom fan
- Replace shower valves
- Rewire 60 year old electrical circuits
- Replace windows
- Repair rotted rafter tails
- Paint interior and exterior
- Repair fire place & BBQ box
- Replace damaged doors & locks
Project: Cabin 2 — Complete!

- Finish carpentry — May-June
Project: Reroof 8 Winacka Cal-shake roofs — Complete!
- Mountain View — August 15-Sep 14
- Rocky Ridge — Squeeze in if possible
Project: Install new heating & air conditioning, EPC — Complete!
- Install new heaters
- Install new air conditioning equipment
Project: Install new skylight, EPC — Complete!
