Adults with girls of all ages planning to earn the Religious Recognitions Award for the Roman Catholic faith are required to attend a free information session before proceeding.

Celebrate National Chemistry Week with Science Activities
The San Diego Section of the American Chemical Society proudly presents ChemExpo on Sunday, November 1 in Balboa Park. Celebrating National Chemistry Week's theme of "Chemistry... It's Elemental," college students and female scientists will teach girls about the chemical elements with experiments about health, the environment, and materials like paint and bicycle frames.
Brownies and Juniors can choose between two Try-It or badge workshops. Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors can complete one of two interest projects by helping the younger girls get started on their badge work, doing experiments of various difficulty levels, and participating in a job shadow experience or career exploration with some of the amazing female scientists and engineers. They may also request to help with development of some experiments to complete portions of other IPs.
All sessions include activities to earn the special ChemExpo Patch.

San Diego City College Super Girls Super Careers, Women in Engineering and Technology Workshop
- Share the experiences and career challenges of four professional women engineers.
- Meet new friends and be a part of an engineering team.

The Nutcracker
Experience the ballet at a special Girl Scout rate with the California Ballet Company. Groups must include at least six children and two adults.

Volunteer at the Port of San Diego Big Bay Balloon Parade
The scenic, bayside streets of downtown San Diego come alive with world-class marching bands, magnificent floats, entertaining drill teams, and a procession of enormous balloons for this annual family event. Volunteers are needed to carry balloons and banners, and assist with the pre-parade 5K run and post-parade games and entertainment.
Teddy Bear Tea and Manners Workshop
Cadette Troop 8343 of Rancho Bernardo invites Brownies to a Teddy Bear Tea and Manners Workshop. Girls will learn about proper introductions when meeting new people, table manners, and eating and greeting customs from around the world. They will also have an opportunity to try traditional formal tea foods such as scones and tea sandwiches. Girls will complete the requirements for the Manners Try-It and receive a Tea Party patch.

Kayaking Workshops
During discounted on-water workshops, girls and leaders can enjoy a "fun paddle," complete a three- to 5-hour workshop, or take a weekend kayak camping trip to work on a badge or interest project. Kayaks, life vests, paddles, safety equipment and ACA-certified instructors are provided.

Mad Science
Mad Science offers exciting hands-on workshops. Brownie Try-it workshop topics include Building Art, Movers, Science Wonders and Space Explorer. Junior badge workshop topics include Aerospace, Rocks Rock, Science Sleuth and Water Wonders.
Discover the Magic of Yoga and ArtYoga for Girl Scouts!
During Yoga World's classes in yoga and "ArtYoga," girls and leaders experience the fun, creative and uplifting results of learning yoga postures, breathing exercises and self-esteem-building meditations. Art instruction can also follow the yoga class. Michelle Frandsen, a certified and licensed yoga instructor and professional oil painter, has been teaching local children since 2001.
