Advanced Backpacking Trips

If you've completed Wilderness Hiking and Basic Backpacking and are looking for another adventure, check out the exciting Advanced Backpacking trips. Advanced Backpacking trips for girls (8th grade and older) and adults. The four- to nine-day trips include beautiful views, delicious meals (prepared by you), sunsets, and lots of hiking!

Appalachian Trail-June 27 to July 5
This is a nine-day trip, with five days on the Appalachian and side trails, in beautiful Shenandoah National Park. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet girls from the Chesapeake Bay Girl Scout Council and see a pristine, wilderness. Shenandoah National Park is a unique environment with lush flora, fauna, birds, deer, and black bears. While the altitude is below 4,000 feet, trails can be quite steep; humidity and frequent rain make this trip moderate to challenging.
