One is Silver and the Other's Gold
The Girl Scout Silver and Gold Awards are the two highest achievements in our organization. Girl Scout Cadettes will receive their Silver Awards during May and June at cluster ceremonies held in
communities throughout the council. On Saturday, May 30, the San Diego-Imperial Council will honor the
exceptional young women who earned the Girl Scout Gold Award at a special ceremony recognizing their
achievements.
It's not about changing the world; it's about changing the girl
The true value of the Girl Scout Gold and Silver Awards lies in empowering the individual girl. Supporting her, allowing her to stand on her own and to spread her wings takes great strength from leaders, parents, and other adults. It's hard to not step in, but we must trust the foundations we've laid during the Daisy, Brownie and Junior years, and just let go!
By showing we believe in the girl, we empower her to follow her passion and demonstrate her leadership. The reward: a young woman confident in her abilities and herself.
