Spring Membership Campaign

The spring membership campaign runs from May 1-May 31, 2019. This includes 2020 annual memberships and 2019-2020 extended year memberships. Girls who register or renew by Friday, May 17, 2019 will receive an exclusive GSSD Spring Member patch!

Extended year memberships are available April 1, 2019-July 31, 2019 for new members only and are valid through Sept. 30, 2020.

Additional incentives are available for troop leaders and service units.

Girl Incentive

Girl Scouts San Diego is excited to offer an exclusive Spring Member patch for all girls who register or renew for 2020 on or before Friday, May 17, 2019. Patches will be available in council shops after Monday, June 17, 2019. Eligible girls will be notified mid-summer via email.

Troop Incentives

Troop leaders who renew 80 percent of girl members before Friday, May 31, 2019 are also eligible to receive the following incentives:

  • A 50 percent off one item coupon good at council shops for any Girl Scouts San Diego brand merchandise
  • Discounted tickets offer for 35 percent off a San Diego Padres game
  • Entrance to an opportunity drawing for a chance to win a ticket to Outdoor Skills Weekend or a free training-by-request in your neighborhood (exclusions apply)

Bonus incentive: The first 300 leaders who renew 80 percent of their troop and open their troop in the catalog or renew 80 percent and add a new girl to their troop will also receive a 23 percent off coupon from community partner REI good for the purchase of any REI Co-op brand item, class, or outing.

Service Unit Incentive

Service units who register 67 percent of their 2019 girl membership by Friday, May 31, 2019 will earn 50 percent off of their council property encampment site fee for their 2019-2020 encampment.

Open Your Troop

How do we open our troop?
Simply submit this online form or email membership@sdgirlscouts.org.

What happens when a girl joins our troop?
You’ll receive an email with her family’s contact information, allowing you to reach out and welcome her to the troop.

Do you want to invite more members to your troop, but aren’t ready to open in the catalog yet? This is a great option for troops that might have special circumstances, such as working on highest awards or planning a trip in the near future. Please fill out this form to be added to an internal list of open troops, and a staff member will contact you when we have someone who might be a good fit for your troop.

Trouble Logging In?

Q: Why isn’t my username working?
A: Your username is typically your email address. If you have more than one email address, try each. You can also use the “Forgot Your Password?” link to send a reset email to your email address. If you’re still having trouble, contact your council’s Customer Care team.

Q: Why aren’t I getting the password reset emails?
A: The password reset emails come from gsusacustomercare@girlscouts.org, so please make sure it’s added to your safe senders list. If you requested the reset email before marking our email address as safe, check your spam folder. If you’re still not receiving the email, contact your council’s Customer Care team to verify that your username/email address is correct.

Q: How do I reset my password when I no longer have access to the email address associated with my account?
A: Your council’s Customer Care team can easily change your username/email address without requiring you to recreate your account.

Q: Why can’t I see my family when I log in?
A: There are a couple reasons this could happen:

  • Another adult family member may be listed as the preferred contact on the account. That person must log in to renew. Contact your council’s Customer Care team if you’d like to be listed as your household’s preferred contact.
  • You may have a second or duplicate account with a different email address. Try a different username. If that works, be sure to contact your council’s Customer Care team to merge the two accounts into one.

Q: Why can’t I see my troop(s) when I log in?
A: There are several reasons this could happen:

  • Troops are listed on a separate tab from your family. If you have more than one troop, look for the pull-down menu to change between them.
  • Check your member profile to make sure you’re listed as a volunteer in the troop.
  • Not all troop volunteers can access the troop tab. Check with your council to see which volunteer roles they allow to access the tab.
  • If your background check has expired, you may lose access until it is up-to-date.
