Empowerment Theatre

Monday, June 26-Friday, July 14
Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Grades 8-12

Make the world a better place through theater! During this collaboration between Girl Scouts and The La Jolla Playhouse, spend three weeks practicing improv games, learning theater exercises and developing leadership skills with teaching artists from the Playhouse.

Each week, you’ll take a field trip to the Playhouse to work with students in the Young Performers’ Workshop. The three-week program culminates in a final performance to showcase everything you've learned.

Empowerment Theatre is funded through a generous grant from the Favrot Family, which covers all the costs associated with participating in the program.

Applications for summer 2017 will be available in February.

Camp Exec is our premier leadership camp for teen girls and high-level professionals! Young women from across San Diego and Imperial Valley learn, listen and share their dreams with some of San Diego’s most accomplished women.

If you’re accepted to Camp Exec, we’ll match you up with a mentor who shares your interests. Together, you’ll build leadership and professional skills in a camp setting. Your mentor and other top-level women from a variety of fields will also facilitate unique, collaborative sessions throughout the weekend to help you practice team building, projecting a positive image and developing a personal brand. Other program themes include personal well-being, financial savvy, and career planning, plus all your favorite camp activities.

Keep an eye out for 2017 applications in spring!

#realtalkgs is a teen Girl Scout forum designed by older girls, for older girls.

Our 2016 theme was fill your bucket. Sometimes, filling your bucket isn't as simple as heading to the water faucet. It involves preparing for college and your career, making space for happiness, and sharing what you know with others. Teen girls left #realtalkgs2016 with their buckets brimming with ideas, tools and strategies for all three!

Registration is not yet open for 2017.

#realtalkgs is hosted alongside our Volunteer Conference and Celebration for adults.
