Lifeguard Certification 05/27/16- 5/29/16
LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION (Camp Winacka)
Through videos, group discussion and hands-on practice, you'll learn teamwork, rescue and surveillance skills, First Aid and CPR/AED and other skills you need to serve as a certified lifeguard. Successful completion results in a 2-year certification in Lifeguarding that includes first aid, professional-level CPR and AED in one certificate. This is an in-the-water course; come prepared to get wet!
Prerequisites: There are important pre-requisites, including a rigorous swim test, which must be completed on Friday, May 27. Materials must be purchased and read in advance. Details will be provided when you register. Priority is given to adult Girl Scout volunteers; minors and non-members will be accommodated after May 23 if space allows.

Saturday, May 28, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
Sunday, May 29, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
You must attend ALL sessions. Check-in begins a half hour before class. Swim test on Friday. If you do not pass the test, you will be issued a refund. A description of the test follows. Be sure to practice!
Based on participant learning speed, it may be necessary to extend the dismissal time on any given day. Please do not make plans immediately after class.
Certification: American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer with AED, each valid for 2 years.
Course Length: 30 hours (includes pre-test and some home study)
