Frequently Asked Questions
Cookie Rally is our council's largest annual gathering, serving 5,000 girls and their families. This fun event inspires and prepares Girl Scouts, leaders and families for the upcoming cookie program and allows girls to experience the sisterhood of the Girl Scout movement. Performers showcase the benefits of participating in the cookie program during an energetic pep rally. This year, enjoy the wonders of the San Diego Zoo before and after your Cookie Rally session.
Each session lasts 50 minutes (a 20-minute pep rally and a 30-minute concert). Zoofari, the Cookie Rally area, will open ahead of the scheduled start time to allow participants to enter.
Our cookie program walkthrough museum will highlight the 5 Skills — goal setting, decision-making, money management, people skills and business ethics — as well as Operation Thin Mint® and cookie program rewards. This display area will close 10 minutes before the end of each concert and remain closed until the next session.
Our special musical guests, Dat Kat in That Hat band, will provide some rockin' and rollin' entertainment. These professional musicians perform in one of the hottest family-friendly theme park shows in Anaheim. You won't want to miss them!
Dat Kat in That Hat features vocalists Jenny Kidd and Nathan Shrake, Todd McCool on guitar, Mike Hill on bass, Jonathan May on keyboard and Jeff Muzerrole on drums.
Admission to the Zoo and the Cookie Rally area, the pep rally and concert, plus a 2014 Cookie Rally patch. We encourage you to take advantage of everything the Zoo has to offer. The fee does not include Guided Bus Tours, Skyfari Aerial Tram rides or discounts on merchandise and food service.
List Price tickets are for Girl Scout non-members: parents, guardians, siblings, or anyone else who has not paid the yearly $15 Girl Scout membership fee.
To purchase non-member/List tickets online, the Family Manager will first need to access their account and click the "Add a Family Member" link on the Family Roster page to add non-Girl-Scouts (children or adults) to the family account at no cost. After family members are added, tickets can be purchased for them.
No. To enter the Cookie Rally area, everyone must have a rally wristband and the special Girl Scout event ticket (the ticket will be collected as you enter the Zoofari area).
Cookie Rally is a special event held at the zoo for Girl Scouts only, and the zoo's membership policy states:
"Membership is valid for general admission entrance to the San Diego Zoo and the Safari Park during regular operating hours all year long. There are no blackout dates or restrictions. Membership includes admission to Nighttime Zoo and Jungle Bells at the San Diego Zoo. Membership does not cover entrance to special events or tours." (Emphasis added)
Only those holding Girl Scout Cookie Rally tickets will be permitted to enter Zoofari, the Cookie Rally area. Military passes, prepaid tickets and/or discount coupons do not apply to this special event.

Please treat your tickets the same as cash; they cannot be reissued if they are lost, damaged or misplaced.
No seating will be provided for the rally; we recommend everyone bring a sit-upon (more ideas). Adults can sit with their Girl Scouts or watch from the standing zones on the edges of the seating area. We ask that everyone "live by the Girl Scout Law" and be respectful of others.
Cheer, sing and dance along with the girls! Leaders and parents/guardians are responsible for supervising their troops and children.
Please be on time. We expect all sessions to be full, and switching will not be permitted, so that we can provide the best possible experience for all guests.
Show your Girl Scout spirit! In addition to following Safety Activity Checkpoint guidelines and preparing for the weather, we encourage girls to wear their uniforms. Create a special troop outfit or costume to help keep your group together in the crowd.
Confirmation packets include a patch.
Absolutely! These events complement each other; Service Unit Cookie Kickoffs offer girls a hands-on opportunity to practice cookie program skills, while the council wide Cookie Rally is a family event. The high-energy pep rally builds excitement about cookies, and everyone can enjoy the professional entertainment.
Yes, financial assistance is available for girl members only.
Financial assistance requests must be received before 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20 by mail, by fax or in person at Balboa Campus. When submitting the order, mark the number of paid registrations and the number of registrants requesting financial assistance in the appropriate spaces. Attach a separate sheet of paper with a list of girls requesting financial assistance. We'll contact you if we have any concerns.
— Teen Cookie U (Saturday, December 14) —
Kickstart your cookie program as part of a team of Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors from across the council. Your goal: to attract backers to fund your cookie-related project!
Never heard of Kickstarter? It’s a funding platform for creative projects. Everything on Kickstarter must have a clear result, like making an album, a film or a new game.
At Teen Cookie U, undertake a project in one of the Kickstarter categories — Art, Comics, Dance, Design, Fashion, Film, Food, Games, Music, Photography, Publishing, Technology and Theatre. Establish the scope of your endeavor, create a reward structure, research a budget, make a video and prep your project for launch. To close the day, Dominique Toney, a creative artist who has successfully funded project using Kickstarter will share her experience and talent. The cost of the event includes lunch.
