Day Camp Program Aides (PA)
Program Aides are girls, grades 7-12, who share their knowledge and talents while gaining valuable experience with younger girl campers under adult supervision.
These girls have the opportunity to earn community service and leadership hours that satisfy Girl Scout recognition and school requirements. The minimum age is 12 (entering 7th grade in the fall).
How to become a Day Camp Program Aide
- Register for day camp online or by submitting a camp registration form to Girl Scouts.
- Check the Program Aide box on the form. Sign up for your desired day camp.
- Receive the registration confirmation packet.
- Review the scheduled trainings and sign up accordingly by using a training registration form.
- Attend the required trainings prior to day camp session.
- Bring your Service & Leadership Record Card to the training. It will be signed by the instructor.
Required Training
Training is an educational opportunity as well as a requirement. Program Aides are required to attend 10 hours of training PRIOR to the beginning of the day camp session. Girls who took Program Aide training before 2009 must take the new training to be eligible to work at camp.

Core Leadership Training (4 hours) $10
Prerequisite: Program Aide self-paced course
Covers leadership styles, characteristics of younger girls and Program Aide roles and responsibilities.

Note: Program Aides are placed on a first-come, first-served basis and must submit required forms prior to placement. Contacting the camp director does not result in placement priority. Friends of Program Aides cannot be accommodated due to the nature of the Program Aide experience.
