Cue the bagpipes! We're ready to "Bridge to the Next Century of Girl Scouts" on Saturday, May 19, 9-11:30 a.m. in Balboa Park, where we'll celebrate girls' progression from one level to the next. We will begin at the Organ Pavilion, then cross the Cabrillo Bridge, led by a bagpipe band. After pausing for a group picture, we'll head to the Sixth Avenue lawn for service projects, booths, crafts, games and cupcakes. Plus, songstress Ani Hesse will sing Ignite (Girl Scouts' 100th anniversary anthem) and other numbers she'll perform at GSUSA's Rock the Mall in Washington, D.C.
Troops in grades 6-12: Please consider hosting a booth at the bridging ceremony. Activities may include crafts, service projects, 100th Anniversary displays or games. No cost to participate; time invested counts toward community service hours.
