Center Stage Productions presents Grease
Girl Scouts are invited to a production of Grease — a high school love story about tough guy Danny and good girl Sandy — at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido. Showtimes are Friday, Aug. 2, 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 3, 2 p.m. (includes a pre-show backstage tour and post-performance Q&A with actors) and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 4, 2 p.m. Special Girl Scout family discount price of $12.50/ticket includes a patch. Gold Award: July office hours
Seniors and Ambassadors can meet with Gold Award Committee members to discuss the award program and ask questions in a casual environment. The next office hours session will be Tuesday, July 16, 6:30-8 p.m. at five locations: Balboa Campus (Leadership Center), Escondido Program Center, North Coastal Service Center (Conference Room), Springall Academy in East County, and the Bonita Public Library. Simple Meals series for Juniors
Juniors, learn to cook fast, healthy, delicious meals from a true pro: the Harvard Cookin’ Girl! In this five-session series, you’ll work in a professional kitchen as you whip up a great breakfast, fix a healthy lunch or dinner, and create a scrumptious dessert. Build your personal cookbook along the way and earn the Simple Meals Legacy badge. Sessions run Mondays, 2-4 p.m., from Aug. 5 through Sept. 2 at Harvard Cookin' Girl in La Jolla. Open house at Canine Companions for Independence
Spend a day with the dogs! Girl Scouts’ community partner Canine Companions for Independence invites kids and adults of all ages to its annual open house on Saturday, July 13, 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The four-legged fun includes a carnival, live music, campus tours, meeting puppies training to become service dogs, and service project opportunities for Girl Scouts.
